NEXT CONVENTION
the Rutland Railway Historical Society Joint Convention After several years of discussion of a joint Central Vermont Railway Historical Society and a Rutland Railway Historical Society convention, the Central Vermont Railway Historical Society we will hosting a joint convention in St. Albans on Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th, 2024. The emphasis will be on the late 19th Century time period when the CV leased the Rutland and every other railroad it could get its hands on. While picking a location was difficult, Alburgh would have be a perfect location except that virtually nothing railroad related survives in Alburgh and there are no suitable facilities to host a convention, Burlington but to expensive, Bellows Falls, RRHS had a convention there two years ago, so St. Albans was selected as host location. This does not mean that there will not be trips to maybe Rouses Point? and other areas. More details to follow. |
